Fed: Pay TV stars arrive for ASTRA awards

SYDNEY, April 21 AAP - Antonia Kidman has joined celebrities such as singer Brian McFadden
and cricketer Stuart MacGill for tonight's ASTRA awards - the pay TV equivalent of the
Logies.

Dressed in a long red Alex Perry gown, Kidman walked the black carpet at Sydney's Hordern
Pavilion where she is nominated for favourite female personality.

About 1,000 guests have turned up for the awards including Sarah Murdoch, Merrick and
Rosso, Ita Buttrose and Australia's next Top Model judge Perry.

A combination of long flowing gowns and short sparkly numbers were the fashion for
this year's awards.

MacGill joked that he felt like a "fish out of water".

MacGill's wine program is up for most outstanding lifestyle program.

McFadden said he was excited to perform tonight.

His former band Westlife will play at next month's Logie awards and McFadden said he
would love to see them perform after admitting he didn't know what the Logies were.

"Have to go and see that," McFadden said.

Other performers will include legendary rocker Jimmy Barnes, who is up for favourite
male personality.

Now in its sixth year, the ASTRA (Australian Subscription Television Radio Association)
awards honour excellence in pay TV and include categories for marketing, performing, programming
and production.
